The government plans to fix the level of productivity based on different sectors and subsectors of the national economy.
Industries Secretary Muhammad Abdullah came up with the statement at the national productivity executive committee meeting on Monday.
"There is no alternative to increase productivity to achieve the goal of building industrialised Bangladesh," he said.
The secretary urged all to increase productivity in different sectors and subsectors, including agriculture, industry and services, for further development.
According to BSS, he also stressed on working in public-private partnership to accelerate the productivity movement.
Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) Chairman Mustak Hassan M Iftekhar, Additional Secretary of the Industries Ministry M Dabirul Islam and Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation (BSFIC) Acting Chairman AKM Delwar Hossain were present at the meeting, among others.
