Formulation of LPG price policy underway: Nasrul

Formulation of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) price policy is underway keeping the interests of both importers and users.

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid made the revelation on Tuesday while replying to a question from lawmaker M Abdul Latif of Chittagong-11 constituency.

“Presently one state run organisation and 14 private firms have been bottling and marketing the LPG," the state minister said.

He informed the House that more six firms would join production from next year after completing their works.

Nasrul said a total of 15 firms, including a public organisation, have been supplying LPG across the country following the existing LPG policy.

According to BSS, he said the energy and mineral resources division is working to keep the LPG price within tolerable limit at consumer level based on import price.
