The Karmasangsthan Bank will disburse Tk 9.5 billion (950 crore) loans among the youth in the financial year 2017-18 (FY18).
The 31st meeting of Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Youth and Sports was informed this Tuesday.
Held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here, the meeting was presided over by the standing committee Chairman M Zahid Ahsan Russel.
The meeting was informed that the Karmasangsthan Bank, since its inception in 1998, has created a total of 4,66,807 entrepreneurs and distributed loans among 16,85,173 entrepreneurs for making them self-reliant.
The meeting suggested the Youth Development Department to provide all necessary information of the trained youths to the Karmasangsthan Bank so that the bank can give necessary loan supports for making them self-employed.
The committee also recommended introducing honours and masters course at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Pratisthan (BKSP) from the next academic year and selecting subjects and syllabus in line with the international universities.
Acting secretary of the ministry and senior officials of the parliament secretariat were present in the meeting, reports BSS.
