Bangabandhu Hi-tech Park will create 14,000 new jobs in Rajshahi.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak said this while he was distributing rehabilitation bank cheques worth Tk 4.57 million among 85 families at regional office conference hall of Bangladesh Scouts in Rajshahi city on Sunday.
A total of 672 families who were residing on the 31-acre park site will be given around Tk 37.40 million in phases for their rehabilitation.
Palak the hi-tech park will play a vital role in boosting the current economy of the region by creating new technology-based employment for both male and female there.
The minister said the ICT division has been implementing the hi-tech park project on 31.63 acres of land at an estimated cost of around Tk 0.28 billion.
He said the government is very much keen to implement the project for socio-economic development of the region, reports BSS.
Project Director Haque said construction of the park is going on in full swing adding youths will get the opportunity to work in the area once the construction is finished in June, 2019.
Deputy Commissioner Helal Mahmud Sharif, , Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, Project Director Fazlul Haque and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Sabet Ali were also spoke in the programme.
