The US embassy in Dhaka has issued a fresh travel alert for its citizens amid the outbreak of coronavirus Covid-19.
“The Government of Bangladesh on July 18, 2020 announced that all passengers will require COVID-19 PCR test results for air travel from Bangladesh with effect from July 23, 2020,” it said in a statement.
The embassy has confirmed that the guideline is not applicable for the US citizens willing to leave Bangladesh, it pointed out.
“Please note that private airlines may have their own testing requirements. If you are planning to depart Bangladesh, please check with your airline to determine whether you will need to present a COVID-19 test result”, it said.
The statement to this end was released on its website on Monday.
The US Embassy remains open for business.
