BRAC Bank employees donate one day’s salary

The employees of BRAC Bank Limited stood beside thousands of flood affected people across the country.

The employees of the bank donated one day’s salary that generated a fund of Tk. 4.3 million to help the flood affected people.

With the fund, BRAC Bank employees distributed relief material to more than 4,000 people in the badly affected areas covering Mymensingh, Netrokona, Jamalpur, Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Sunamganj, Hobiganj, Sirajganj, Dinajpur, Naogaon, Rangpur, Nilphamari, Bogra and Rajshahi districts. 

BRAC Bank covered the following 48 areas -- Kalmakandha, Mohonganj, Sharishabari, Melandah, Motherganj, Dewanganj, Derai, Jamalgonj, Sunamganj, Borolekha, Kulaura, Fenchuganj, Nobiganj, SirajganjSadar, Belkuchi, Shahjadpur, Ullapara, Birol, Setabganj, Fulbari, Syedpur, Parbotipur, Ranir Bandar, Nilphamari, Dinajpur, Ulipur, Nageshwar, Bhurangimari,  Hatibandha, Tushvander, Kurigram, Badarganj, Bonarpara, Joypurhat, Panchbibi, Akkelpur, Atrai, Raninagar, Naogaon, Shantahar, Gobindaganj, Gabtali, Dhunat, Mokamtola, Shingra, Saphahar, Potnitala and Mohonpur.

With its wide network of SME Unit Offices and Branches, BRAC Bank has been able to take relief items to the remotest and most affected places. Each relief pack included essential items like rice, onion, potato, pulse, soyabean oil and salt.

This year BRAC Bank also made a contribution of Tk. 30 million to the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund from its CSR Fund to assist the flood affected people, said a statement.
