Bangladeshi artworks enthral Omani audience

Society for Promotion of Bangladesh Art, SPBA, in collaboration with Bank Sohar International, Oman, recently hosted a week long exhibition in the Omani capital city of Muscat to display works of seven Bangladeshi artists.  

The main objective of the exhibition titled ‘Abstracts and Reality’ was to showcase the art culture of Bangladesh to the people of Oman.

Sheikh Saad al Saadi, Minister of Sports of Oman and Mohammed Alardhi, Chairman of Bank Sohar International inaugurated the exhibition, according to a press statement.

Maqbool Ali Sultan, Advisor to His Majesty, the Sultan of Oman and Golam Sarwar, the Bangladesh Ambassador to Oman were also present at the inauguration ceremony.

Founder Chairman of the Society for Promotion of Bangladesh Art, SPBA, Elthem B Kabir was the curator of the exhibition.

Dynamic works with bold colors and composition by Monirul Islam, Mohammed Eunus, Kanak Chanpa, Mohammed Iqbal, Tajuddin Ahmed, Jahangir Hossain and Maksuda Iqbal Nipa were on display at the Bait Muzna Gallery in Muscat, Oman.

“We are most impressed to see the energy, passion and depth of the Bangladesh Artists. Their techniques and play of vibrant colors on large canvas’s are very impressive”, said an Omani art lover who visited the gallery.

A large number of art enthusiasts, eminent businessmen, diplomats, media and art critics visited the exhibition.
