Virtual AD bench sits from today

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court will resume its trial proceedings today (Monday), after a halt of around four months, through videoconferencing.

A bench of the Appellate Division (AD) will sit in two days- Monday and Thursday- in a week and hear the cases from 10.00 am to 1.15 pm till further order, said a notification issued on Sunday by Md Badrul Alam Bhuiyan, registrar of the division.

"The Chief Justice gave permission to conduct trial activities by virtual court of the appellate division of the Supreme Court without physical appearance in order to contain the spread of the coronavirus infection," read the notification.

After the introduction of the virtual court in the country on May 11 this year, the chamber judge of the Appellate Division was conducting trial activities through virtual system. Now a bench will sit for conducting trail activities in the division.
