The government has suspended three engineers of for their alleged irregularities in tree felling at Uttara Ganabhaban in Natore.
A letter, signed by Housing and Public Works secretary Shahid Ullah reached the deputy commissioner's office on Thursday evening, reports a local media.
The three suspended Public Works Department engineers are-executive engineer Moshiur Rahman Akand, deputy divisional engineer Ziaur Rahman and deputy assistant engineer Kamruzzaman.
The ministry also asked to file a case against contractor Sohel Foysal.
Earlier, the Uttara Ganabhaban authorities sold some dead trees through an auction. But the contractor cut down 17 century-old trees with the dead ones and took them away.
A probe committee was formed to look into the matter. After investigation, the probe committee found involvement of six people in the irregularities.
