The US Embassy in Dhaka has taken an initiative to secure flights to the United States for US citizens and their family members who wish to depart Bangladesh amid the coronavirus pandemic.
It also urged its citizens to be available over phone and other means so that the embassy can communicate with them when required to confirm their interest in the flights.
The embassy on Friday said, "The embassy is working round the clock. We do not yet know the exact time or date of these flights but we will provide that information as soon as it is available.”
Urging to prepare to travel on short notice, it said that if someone arrived in Bangladesh within the last 14 days or is recovering from COVID, then he or she is must be in self quarantine, and the immigration authorities will not permit to travel if anyone has not completed the quarantine requirements.
And, if anyone feels ill or has a fever, “Please do not attempt to travel. We appreciate your patience during these challenging times. We will send another message when we have more information.”
