Two minor girls drowned in a pond at Boro Bakail village in Brahmanbaria sadar upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Madhu Begum, 7, daughter of Mafiz Mia and Eti Akter, 8, daughter of Golap Mia of the village, reports UNB.
Quoting family sources, police said Madhu and Eti slipped into a pond near their house while playing there in the afternoon and went missing.
Getting no whereabouts of the girls, locals found the bodies floating on the pond later in the day.
