The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) will interrogate two lawmakers over allegation of acquiring illegal wealth.
The ACC on Wednesday asked the two members of parliament, Kamrul Ashraf Khan (Narsingdi-2) and Mohammad Mizanur Rahman (Khulna-2), at its head office on April 10 and 16 respectively to appear for interrogation.
ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the media about the notice on Tuesday.
The owner of Poton Traders Kamrul Ashraf Khan allegedly earned illegal wealth by embezzling the government fertilizer.
ACC deputy director of ACC Ekramur Reza is investigating the allegation against him.
Earlier, on August 25 of the last year the ACC official had summoned MP Kamrul Ashraf Khan for the first time.
On the other hand, ACC decided to launch investigation against ruling party leader MP Mizanur Rahman over allegation of acquiring illegal wealth on March 8.
Khulna-2 constituency MP and Awami League leader Mizanur Rahman allegedly misused his power in Khulna City Corporation and other government offices in his constituency to secure work orders in the name of his family members.
According to UNB, ACC deputy director Manzur Morshed investigating this complain.
ACC urged the MPs to give their statement 'for the sake of fair investigation.'
