Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) has found bribery evidence at all the stages of service delivery in Mongla sea and Burimari land ports.
The sensitive information of corruption came out in a qualitative research of TIB, carried out on the ports from July 2017 to September 2018.
According to the study revealed on Sunday, businesses bribed over Tk 200 million to Mongla port authority and customs station to get services during the period under review.
Of the amount, around Tk 157 million was paid in receiving customs-related services.
On the other hand, importers and exporters paid around Tk 90 million in getting services from Burimari land port.
