Three women get Joyeeta Award in Rajbari

Three women in Rajbari have received the ‘Joyeeta Award-2019’ for attaining success in different fields by overcoming various difficulties and challenges.

The awardees from the Islamic Relief Bangladesh Rajbari Field office are-- Sarothi Rani Kundu, Monoara Khatun, and Asma Begum.

Sarothi Rani Kundu got the prize in economic development women category while Monoara Khatun was given Joyeeta Award in Resilience against violence of women category and Asma Begum was given the prize in Resilience against violence of women category.

Rajbari district administration and the Directorate of Women Affairs jointly organised the event on Monday at the deputy commissioner's office in Rajbari, says a media release.

Deputy Commissioner Ms. Dilsad Begum was present as special guest at the event while District Administrator Fakir Abdul Jabbar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ashek Hasan, Mobeshwar Hossain, and District Women's Affairs Officer Noor Safura Feroze joined the event as the special guests.

Joyeeta Onneshone Bangladesh--a government initiative introduced in 2011-has had a tremendous impact on society in issues of women empowerment, says the release.

The award was given to the women for their feats in five categories, under a government initiative titled "Joyeeta Onneshone Bangladesh".

The categories under which the award was given for 2018-19 fiscal year include economic, social development, education and employment, successful mother, and prevention of repression.
