Three Rohingya children died when a boat carrying from Myanmar capsized in the Bay of Bengal in Sabrang area of Tekhnaf on Thursday.

The boat with around 54 Rohingyas who were fleeing Myanmar to Bangladesh sank at Khurermukh around 4am.

Officer-in-charge of Tekhnaf Police Station Moinuddin Ahmed said 51 passengers managed to swim ashore and three children went missing.

Later, locals recovered the bodies and buried those at a local graveyard, the OC added.

Meanwhile, some 86 Rohingyas of 25 families, including the boat capsize survivors, entered Bangladesh through different points of Sabrang on Thursday.

UNB said, district administration official at Sabrang Relief Centre Md Delwar Hossain confirmed about their entry.

They were given shelter and relief at Nayapara Rohingya camp, he added.

"We had been living a miserable life in captivity at our village without food and treatment. Some of our relatives have already died. So, we ran away from there," said Salma Khatun, a Rohingya woman.
