Several Supreme Court officials met Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, now on sick leave, at his home on Friday morning.

Appellate Division Registrar General Syed Aminul Islam went to Justice Sinha’s official residence at Hare Road in Dhaka, reports bdnews24.com.

An official at the Supreme Court Registrar’s Office, requesting anonymity, said several other top court officials also went to the house later.

Prime Minister’s International Affairs Adviser Gowher Rizvi reportedly paid a call on the chief justice at his home around 11am and stayed there for around an hour.

Neither Rizvi nor any official confirmed the report.

Justice Sinha went on the leave on Tuesday, citing health reasons. The government in a circular said Justice Abdul Wahhab Miah, the most senior Appellate Division judge after Justice Sinha, will act as chief justice in this period.
