The annual election of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has begun to elect the 14-member new executive committee of the apex court bar.
The voting of the two-day polls began at 10:00 am and will continue till 5:00pm on Wednesday with a one-hour break.
The balloting will resume on 10:00 am Thursday and continue till 5:00pm, said convener of SCBA election conducting committee AY Mashiuzzaman, reports UNB.
A total of 6,152 registered voters can cast their votes to elect the new executive committee for 2018-19 period.
Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun, Awami League advisory council member, is vying for the president post from a panel backed by Awami League-led alliance.
On the other hand, BNP Vice-chairman Advocate Joynul Abedin from the Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Oikya Parisad (JAOP) is contesting for the post backed by the BNP-Jamaat alliance.
