Six photojournalists were injured in an alleged attack by Bangladesh Chhatra League activists in different parts of the city on Sunday.
The injured were identified as AM Ahad of the Associated Press (AP), Zawad of Janakantha, Palash of Banik Barta, Rimon of US based Zuma Press, freelancer Rahat and Enamul Hasan, a photography student of Pathsala South Asian Media institute.
Witnesses said AM Ahad came under attack at Jhigatola area of Dhaka on Sunday afternoon, reports UNB.
He was beaten mercilessly and his mobile phone and camera were broken while he was discharging his professional duty in the area.
Doctors at a nearby hospital said he had serious injuries to his head that need stitches.
Besides, the other five were injured while taking snaps of goons primarily identified as members of BCL attacking protesters in the city's Science Laboratory area in the city on Sunday.
