Sena Kalyan Sangstha (SKS), a welfare organisation of the Armed Forces of the country, has provided Tk 3.06 million to 306 higher secondary level students as inspirational scholarship.
Each of the students who were selected on the basis of their SSC examination result held in 2020 has been given a check of Tk 10,000 on Monday.
A total of 61 out of the 306 selected students received the checks directly on Monday at a programme organised under the banner of ‘inspirational scholarship check giving ceremony for the higher secondary level students' at the convention hall of the SKS Tower in the capital city.
These 61 students with their guardians came from different educational institutions of the Dhaka zone. The checks of the remaining students who basically stay out of the Dhaka zone will be distributed through concerned regional officials or will be sent by post.
Chairman of the Sena Kalyan Sangstha (SKS) Major General Mohammad Saidul Islam, ndc, psc, who was also the chief guest at the program, handed over the checks to the students. The director generals of all other divisions were also present on the occasion.
In the hope of building an educated generation, the Sena Kalyan Sangstha has been providing educational scholarship to the children of retired members of the Armed Forces at secondary, higher secondary, and graduation levels since its founding period. The organization has also been providing professional scholarships to improve their skills in the workplace.
In addition, it gives inspirational scholarships to meritorious students who are achieving Golden GPA-5 results.
Since its inception, the Sena Kalyan Sangstah has provided assistance worth Tk 4.50 billion to 18,59,220 people in the welfare sector. In the financial year 2020-2021, it has provided assistance worth Tk 500 million to 160,000 people.
