The second namaz-e-janaza of 23 Bangladeshi plane crash victims was held at Bangladesh Army Stadium in Dhaka on Monday afternoon.
Hundreds of people; including ministers, government officials, relatives of victims; took part in the namaz-e-janaza.
Local news agencies said, the first namaz-e-janaza was held at Bangladesh Embassy in Nepal this morning.
Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Road Transport Minister Obaidul Quader, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, were present at the namaz-e-janaza.
The bodies were handed over to their families after paying respect on behalf of President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and different political parties.
Earlier, a Bangladesh Air Force plane, carrying the bodies of 23 victims, arrived in Dhaka on Monday afternoon.
The Air Force plane landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 4.05 pm.
Road Transport Minister Obaidul Quader and Civil Aviation Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal received the bodies at the airport.
According to bdnews24.com, a funeral prayer will be held at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in Dhaka after the bodies arrive.
The relatives have been asked to be there who will receive the mortal remains.
The Bangladesh Embassy in Nepal arranged a funeral service for the victims earlier the day.
The funeral was held after the coffins were brought to the embassy premises in Kathmandu around 8:30am.
Bangladeshis living in Nepal, staffers of the embassy and officials of the US-Bangla Airlines took part in the prayers.
An aircraft of the US-Bangla Airlines, with 71 people on board, crashed while trying to land at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport on Mar 12. The aviation tragedy took 49 lives including those of 26 Bangladeshis.
