Mobile courts can operate for three weeks more

The Supreme Court (SC) has extended for three more weeks the stay on the High Court (HC) order that declared illegal running mobile courts by executive magistrates.

A five-member bench of the Appellate Division led by acting Chief Justice Abdul Wahhab Miah passed the order on Tuesday, reports UNB.

The SC came up with the order as the state represented by Attorney General Mahbubey Alam pleaded time in the case.

Earlier, on May 11, the HC declared illegal of the operation of mobile court by the executive magistrate and later on May 14 after hearing on a government appeal the Chamber Judge stayed until May 18.

On May 21, the SC adjourned the verdict of the High Court till July 2.

Later, the SC extended the time for several times.
