The Supreme Court (SC) authorities extended all the High Court (HC) ad-interim bail orders and effectiveness of all others ad-interim orders for the next four weeks amid the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic.
In a circular issued on Sunday, the SC authorities said it has extended ad-interim bail orders or other orders, which was given for a specific period of time and which was served by the High Court on condition to surrender at the lower courts.
The circular was issued under the directive from Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, it said.
The notification, signed by SC Registrar General Md Ali Akbar, said earlier on April 18, the SC issued a similar notification to this effect, which will expire soon.
The SC under the directive from the chief justice has been running the court functions on a limited scale aiming at stemming the surge of Covid-19 pandemic across the country.
