Some of the judges of both the divisions of the Supreme Court have announced their orders and judgements in Bengali language on February 1 (Wednesday) in respect of the language martyrs.
Justice M Enayetur Rahim, Chamber Judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, announced his all the orders and verdicts in Bengali on Wednesday. He said, “I will announce all the orders in Bengali today in honor of the language martyrs.”
The court also said that most of the orders of the Chamber Court would be passed in Bengali since then. Accordingly, the court declared orders for the 145 cases in Bengali.
Earlier on the day, the High Court bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Md Khairul Alam announced a verdict in Bengali in honour of the language martyrs.
Before announcing the judgement, Justice Naima Haider said, “Today is February 1. Month of language starts today. In honour of the departed souls of the language martyrs and International Mother Language Day, I will announce my first verdict today in Bengali. I am doing this also in respecting to all Bengali speaking people around the world.”
Apart from this, the HC benches of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Khizir Hayat, Justice Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman and Justice A K M Rabiul Hassan also announced verdicts and orders in Bengali.
