The government will set up 20 disinfectant tunnels at Sadarghat launch terminal, aiming to ensure safe journey of launch passengers amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Six disinfectant tunnels have already been set up and 14 more tunnels will be installed in phases, said State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury while inspecting the overall preparations for launch movement and passengers’ safety at the terminal on Sunday, reports UNB.
He also urged to people not to go outside without any urgent need.
“Disinfectant tunnels have not been set up only at Sadarghat but also at ports. We will do our best to follow the rules of hygiene while carrying passengers in the launches. Awareness must be raised to follow the instructions. Launch owners and workers need to be aware of this,” he said
Total 13 launches have left Sadarghat for different destinations including Chandpur and Munshiganj following health guidelines till noon on Sunday.
