Bangladesh has strongly asked Myanmar to remove heavy military presence near Tumbru border at Naikkhongchhari in Bandarban.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh also handed over a “strong protest” note to Myanmar Ambassador in Dhaka Lwin Oo on Thursday following Myanmar’s stance that goes against border norms, according to bdnews24.com.
Earlier, the government summoned the Myanmar envoy on Thursday afternoon following Myanmar's military deployment along Tumbru border with heavy arms and ammunition.
Acting Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh M Khurshid Alam handed over the protest note to the envoy.
