Several places across the country are likely to witness rain/thunder showers with intense lightning flashes along with hail, accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind, in the next 24 hours commencing from 9:00am, the Met office said in a forecast.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) in the forecast said rain/thunder showers with intense lightning flashes accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and the regions of Jashore and Kushtia with hails at isolated places.
Besides, a mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions and the regions of Dinajpur, Tangail and Faridpur and it may continue, as per the bulletin.
Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, it said, adding that day and night temperature might remain nearly unchanged over the country.
In its outlook for the next 72-hour, it said no marked change.
Trough of westerly low lies over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining area, it said, adding that seasonal low lies over South Bay.
