Rain likely in next 24 hours

Several places, including Dhaka, are likely to witness rain in the next 24 hours, commencing from 9:00 am on Saturday, the Met Office said in a forecast.

Rain/thundershower accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur & Sylhet divisions and at one or two places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh & Chattogram divisions, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in the forecast this morning.

Dimla, northern Bangladesh, recorded the highest rainfall of 38 millimetre (mm) on Friday while Rajshahi reported the highest temperature of 37.6 degrees Celius, the bulletin stated.

The weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, as per the bulletin.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it stated.

Trough of westerly low lies over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining area, it said, adding that seasonal low lies over South Bay.
