Rain likely at many places over the country

Bangladesh Meteorological Department today (Monday) predicted that rain or thundershowers may occur in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours.

“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions and the regions of Jashore and Kushtia,” said a Met office bulletin issued this morning.

As an extended outlook for the next 48 hours, the bulletin predicted that the rainfall and thundershower activity may increase.

Weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, it added.

Light fog may occur at some places over the country during early morning tomorrow, BSS reports.

However, night temperature may rise slightly and day temperature may fall slightly over the country.

The highest temperature on Sunday was recorded 32.5 degrees Celsius in both Chandpur in Chattogram and Patuakhali in Barishal, while today’s minimum temperature was 12.3 degrees Celsius in Rajarhat in Rangpur.

The sun sets at 5:59 pm today and rises at 6:25 am tomorrow in the capital.
