The capital witnessed a moderate rain on Wednesday afternoon, creating inconveniences to the city-dwellers especially returnees from offices.
The nearly half-an-hour shower had started around 5:00pm and continued till around 5:30pm.
The mercury dipped with the late winter rain.
The Meteorological Department recorded the 4mm (millimetre) rainfall that brought discomfort for people of Jatrabaria, Kilgaon, Motijheel, Purana Paltan, Mirpur, Moghbazar, Karwan Bazar, Badda, Hatirjheel, Rampura, Gulshan, Postogola and some other areas of Dhaka city.
The maximum temperature recorded in the capital was 26.21 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and the lowest was 17.2, also in the city.
A meteorologist said weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country today (Thursday).
He, however, said, there may be rainfall again from January 28 to 31 in some parts of the country.
Light to moderate fog may occur in northwestern part and river basins and some other areas of the country during midnight to morning and it may continue till noon at places.
Night temperature may fall slightly over northwestern part and it may fall by one to two degree Celsius elsewhere in the country.
