Bangladesh Railways has started selling advance train tickets for the return journey of holidaymakers after Eid-ul-Fitr.
According to Kamalapur railway station authorities, passengers can buy tickets from the respective stations from where they will begin their journey. Tickets are being sold online too, reports BSS.
Employees of government and private offices got a long vacation this time as weekend holidays and May Day holiday merged with the holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr.
People in huge numbers left Dhaka on railways on the last working day on Thursday (April 28) before the vacation.
On an average 53,000 passengers left Dhaka for different parts of the country every day in the last several days before Eid-ul-Fitr, according to Kamalapur railway station authorities.
Eid holidays will end today (Wednesday). But many employees of government and private offices will join the office on Sunday by taking extra leave on Thursday.
