RAB detains 3 ‘JMB men’ in C’nawabganj

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three suspected members of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Kamardaho in Sadar upazila early Sunday.

The arrestees were Azibul Haque, 53, Saiful Islam, 35, residents of Dhobra village and Tazamul Haque, 46, a resident of Laxmipur village.

Actin on a tip-off JMB men were holding a secret meeting at Kamardaho to carry out subversive activities, a Rab team operated a drive there, said a press release issued by Rab-5 of Chapainawabganj.

During the drive, the elite force members arrested Azibul and Saiful from the spot while other members of the gang fled the scene sensing the presence of the law enforcers, according to UNB report.

Later, Rab personnel arrested Tazamul from his home based on the information of two arrestees.

Rab members also recovered four Jihadi books from the spot.
