The government has increased application fees for public-sector jobs from ninth to 20th grades.
The ministry of finance on Thursday last issued a notification, saying the new fees will be applicable with immediate effect in case of appointing non-cadre officials in all ministries, divisions, departments, and autonomous bodies, among others.
The fees for ninth-grade jobseekers increased to Tk 600 from Tk 500 earlier, but it will remain unchanged at Tk 500 for the 10th-grade aspirants.
The aspirants of the 11th and 12th grades will pay Tk 300 as application fee which was not fixed in the past.
The jobseekers from 13th to 16th grades will now pay the fees at Tk 200 from existing Tk 100.
The aspirants who seek jobs from 17th to 20th grades will pay Tk 100 now which was Tk 50 in the past.
The fees will be collected through state-owned cell phone operator Teletalk from where the company will get 10 per cent money as commission for providing the service.
Teletalk will deposit the money in favour of the concerned government offices through bank cheques within three days of collecting the fees.
The government offices will deposit the money as soon as possible to the exchequer through chalan.
If the government offices do not invite applications online, they will be able to receive fees through chalan/bank draft/pay order, says the notification.
