Pro-Awami League 'blue panel' teachers on Thursday swept Dhaka University syndicate, academic council, and finance committee elections by securing 12 posts out of 13.
The white panel, backed by BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami, secured only one post.
Six representatives were elected to the syndicate while six to the academic council and one to the finance committee.
The elected syndicate members are Prof Dr ASM Maksud Kamal (Provost Category), Prof Dr Rahmat Ullah (Professor Category), Mohammad Humayun Kabir (Associate Professor Category), Dr Md Mizanur Rahaman (Assistant Professor Category), and Jannatul Naima (Lecturer Category) from the Pro-AL blue panel and Professor Dr Md Hasanuzzaman (Dean Category) from the Pro-BNP Jamaat white panel.
The academic council members are Dr Alamgir Kabir, Dr Nepal Chandra Roy and Mohammad Ashraf Sadek from Associate Professor Category while Farzana Ahmed, Saiful Alam Chowdhury, Sanchita Guha from Assistant Professor Category.
Professor Dr Momtaz Uddin Ahmed was elected to the finance committee. DU treasure Prof Dr Kamal Uddin was the chief election commissioner of the polls.
DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman and Pro-VC Nasreen Ahmad visited the polling centre at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on the campus during the election, reports BSS.
