President Abdul Hamid has asked the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to gain public confidence through their works.
The President made the directive while a five-member NHRC delegation led by its Chairman Kazi Reazul Hoque submitted its annual report to him at Bangabhaban on Thursday.
Terming the NHRC an important institution, President Hamid urged all concerned to work sincerely to protect rights of mass people at all stages.
The President was apprised of overall activities of the NHRC including different aspects of the annual report, said President's Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin.
The NHRC chairman sought cooperation of the President to continue the activities of the Commission in proper manner.
UNB says, President Hamid assured the delegation of providing all necessary supports to carry out NHRC activities.
Secretaries concerned to the President were also present there.
