Mentioning that the ongoing anticrime drive will also be conducted across the country, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said many of those involved in various misdeeds are now under the radar of intelligence agencies.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has hinted that the drive will be strengthened and those involved in various misdeeds are under the surveillance of intelligence,” he said while talking to reporters at the Bangladesh Secretariat, reports UNB.
Replying to a question about the arrest of Jubo League leader Samrat, Awami League General Secretary said, “No one will be spared. Law enforcement agencies will arrest anyone once they receive proper evidence against him/her.”
Replying to another query, the minister said the intruders in Awami League and its front organisations are also under surveillance.
Asked about the remarks of BNP leader Moudud Ahmed for disclosing the wealth information of ministers and MPs, the Awami League leader said, “Please ask him to disclose his own wealth information to the nation. We the ministers and MPs are providing wealth information to the Prime Minister every year and if you (journalists) have any proof of corruption then give us that information.”
Replying to a question about alleged extortion in the transport sector, the minister said it is being investigated who are involved in extortion. “Action will be taken against those involved in extortion.”
