BNP has alleged that its chairperson Khaleda Zia's nomination paper has been cancelled as part of the government blueprint to hold a lopsided election.
"We think, it's an ill-motivated decision. Our leader's (Khaleda Zia) nomination papers have been rejected as part of the government's master plan and blueprint to keep her away from the election," said BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
Speaking at a press conference at BNP Naya Paltan central office on Sunday, he also alleged their party's some other popular candidate's nomination papers were also annulled as the government is trying to hold a unilateral election and stay in power by force, reports UNB.
The Election Commission rejected the nomination papers of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia for contesting the parliamentary election from Feni-1 constituency due to her conviction in two corruption cases.
Rejection of Khaleda’s nomination paper part of govt blueprint, alleges Rizvi
