Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Thursday expressed hope of bringing back war criminals from abroad who were awarded death sentence.
"I hope that the present government would bring back the war criminals, who were awarded death sentences, from different countries soon," he said.
Quader said it while paying tributes to the martyred intellectuals by placing floral wreaths at the Martyred Intellectuals Mausoleum at Mirpur in the capital, reports BSS.
Quader said the present government is also working to bring back the killers of the intellectuals in 1971.
The AL general secretary said there are some complications in the countries where the killers are hiding.
"We hope that the verdicts will be executed soon after bringing back the killers," Quader said.
