Obaidul Quader says govt reviewing BNP’s 10-point demand

Describing BNP’s 10-point demand as old ones, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said the government will review the 10-point demand raised by the BNP whether any of them can be accepted.

The Awami League leader, also the road transport and bridges minister, made the remarks while virtually addressing the triennial council of the party's Chuadanga district unit from his residence in Dhaka, reports BSS.

He said, “BNP had a plan to bring the life to a standstill in the capital on December 10, but now BNP itself became paralysed.”

“BNP lawmakers also stepped down (from Jatiya Sangsad) but it was a big mistake, they would realise it soon,” he added.

Obaidul Quader said, “Awami League is a traditional political party in the subcontinent and only this party practices democracy unlike all other political parties in the country.”

“Game will be played against all evil forces,” he said, adding that Awami League President Sheikh Hasina will have to be brought to power again facing all movements for building a 'Sonar Bangla' as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Obaidul Quader also addressed the triennial council of the Chattogram South District unit of Awami League from his official residence, reports UNB.

In this speech, he said the election will be held as per the constitution and election commission is the main strength of conducting the election.

“The government will just assist them,” he said.

“Like the BNP, Awami League also demanded neutral and fair elections,” said Obaidul Quader.
