Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Sunday said Khaleda Zia's release from jail is not possible before or after Eid-ul-Fitr through a movement.
"The government has nothing to do with the release of BNP chief Khaleda Zia as it's the court which takes decision on convicts," he said while talking to reporters on Sunday at Dhanmondi Awami League office before the party's sub-committee meeting, reports UNB.
"BNP has been talking about movement for the last 10 years before or after Eid or after summer or before winter. Actually, nobody knows when they'll launch the movement," he said.
Hasan Mahmud suggested BNP not to repeat this statement to make it mere a matter of joke.
Replying to a question about AK Khandaker's apology for wrong information on Bangbandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in his book, the minister thanked him for his realisation.
AL Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary Mr Aminul Islam Amin and committee leaders were present at the programme.
