BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is going to visit the Rohingyas who have taken shelter in Cox’s Bazar in the face of persecution in their own country, Myanmar.
She is scheduled to start her journey from her Gulshan residence on Saturday at 10am, and will have a stopover for lunch at the Circuit House in Feni and pass overnight at the Circuit House in Chittagong.
Khaleda will resume her journey for Cox's Bazar on Sunday around 11am. Reaching there around 5pm, she will stay overnight at the Circuit House on Sunday.
She will go to Ukhia on Monday morning to visit the Rohingyas and return to Chittagong in the evening. She will stay overnight at the Chittagong Circuit House and finally return to Dhaka on Tuesday.
The BNP Chairperson, who returned home after over a three-month stay in the UK on October 18, is going to Cox's Bazar as part of her party standing committee members' decision.
Some party leaders said Khaleda may address some wayside rallies on her way to Cox's' Bazar. Some others, however, said she is unlikely to address any street rally due to security concerns.
As the national election is nearing, BNP's nomination aspirants will try to draw Khaleda's attention with big showdowns at different points from Gulshan to Cox's Bazar showing their popularity and strength.
