Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman Hussein Muhammad Ershad Monday called upon the government for introducing provincial system of government to ensure welfare of the common people.
"Without provincial government system, it is not possible to bring welfare to the common people," he said.
Ershad said it while addressing a huge public rally held at Abdul Mazid Government Boys' High School ground in Sundarganj upazila of Gaibandha district in the afternoon as the chief guest, says BSS.
Sundarganj upazila unit of Jatiya Party organised the rally with its President and Law and Justice Affairs Adviser to the JP Chairman Barrister Shamim Haider Patwary in the chair.
Ershad, Special Envoy to the Prime Minister, said Jatiya Party never liked and would never prefer uproar and anarchy in the country.
Later, Ershad introduced Barrister Shamim Haider Patwary as the candidate for the next parliamentary elections from Sundarganj constituency in Gaibandha district and called upon the local people to vote for him (Patwary).
Secretary General of Jatiya Party ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader, MP, its former Secretary General Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu ,MP, State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mashiur Rahman Ranga, MP, Mayor-elect of Rangpur and President of Rangpur city unit of JP Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa, among others, addressed.
