Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shajahan Kamal on Tuesday observed that state terrorism would emerge in the country once again if the BNP comes to power, saying BNP is called ‘a party of killers’.
“Do not believe them (BNP)…after failing to spark an anti-government movement, BNP is now involved in conspiracy, led by Tarique Rahman, against the government to take advantages capitalising on the students’ movement for safe road,” he said.
The Minister was addressing a discussion held on Kushakhali Union Parishad office premises in Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila on the occasion of the 43th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Kamal said the anti-liberation forces killed Bangabandhu on August 15, 1971 as part of a blueprint to impede the country’s development. “You will not find such brutal killing in the world’s history,” he said.
Later, the Civil Aviation Minister distributed cheque of Tk 5,000 to 25 families each, who were victims of riverbank erosion, at Sadar upazila parishad auditorium.
Deputy Commissioner Anjan Chandra Pal, District Council Chairman Md Shahjahan, District Awami League General Secretary Adv Noor Uddin Chowdhury Nayan, AL leader MA Hashem, Sadar Upazila AL president Babu Bijan Bihari Ghosh were, among others, present on the occasion.
