Jatiya Party Chairman has started a five-day tour to Rangpur to celebrate the Eid-ul-Azha and carry out organisational and social activities.
Ershad reached Rangpur city around 11am on Saturday by a helicopter from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, said a party press release, reports UNB.
Jatiya Party Co-chairman GM Quader, general secretary ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader, presidium members Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu and Major (retd) Khaled Akhter are accompanying its chairman.
During his five-day stay in Rangpur, it said Ershad will participate in various political, social and personal programmes.
The Jatiya Party chairman will visit Kurigram's Chilmari upazila on Sunday.
He will offer Eid-ul-Azha prayers at Central Collectorate Eidgah in Rangpur city at 8am on July 22.
Later, he will exchange greetings with his party leaders and supporters at his Palli Nibas residence in Rangpur city marking the eid.
The Jatiya Party chief is scheduled to leave Rangpur for Dhaka at 11am on July 23.
