Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said that Awami League has been repeatedly subjected to different plots as the party never hatches any conspiracy.
The road transport and bridges minister came up with the statement while addressing the council of Tarash Upazila of Sirajganj district as the chief guest on Sunday morning joining via video conference from his official residence in the capital, reports UNB.
“In a democratic system, the government will be changed through voting and that the election will be held in accordance with the constitution in due course,” Obaidul Quader said.
He also said that Sheikh Hasina has the honest courage to accept the verdict of the people.
Awami League general secretary said that while the country is moving toward development, an evil portion is trying to conduct conspiracy.
He also said that after a series of failures in the movement and elections, they (BNP) are now involved in conspiracy at home and abroad.
Quader said the BNP has made itself an opponent of the people and the police. They are trying to get involved in the conflict. He also remarked that the people now understand the BNP's anti-politics.
Obaidul Quader thinks that there is no issue of such movement in the country now as Sheikh Hasina's pro-people politics has put BNP in crisis.
The government has found BNP's involvement in Al Jazeera's report. He said “Such allegations of BNP leaders are not true. AL said it is investigating to trace out the key actors who assisted the AL Jazeera to produce the story of cock and bull.”
Awami League general secretary said that committees which were expired will have to form through a council in all the district, upazila, union, and ward units.
Noting that a committee cannot be formed with its own people to make one’s position heavy, the general secretary of the Awami League said that dedicated workers, activists must be brought forward in order to strengthen the party.
Awami League Organising Secretary SM Kamal Hossain, Health Secretary Dr. Rokeya Sultana and other local leaders spoke at the end of Tarash Upazila.
