BNP has expelled 82 more of its grassroots leaders for contesting the upcoming upazila elections violating the party's decision.
A BNP press release signed by its assistant office secretary Belal Ahmed said the 82 leaders in six districts -- Sylhet, Habiganj, Bogura, Naogaon, Rangamati and Bandarban -- were expelled from the party posts at all levels, including its primary membership.
With the fresh ones, the party expelled its 101 grassroots leaders in a week as they all joined the upazila elections as independent candidates breaching the party's decision, reports UNB.
On Saturday, BNP dissolved its Nilphamari district unit committee due to organisational indiscipline.
According to a party press release, a convening committee of the unit will be formed very soon to carry out its organisational activities.
