BNP carrying out nomination trade, alleges Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Tuesday alleged that BNP nominated their candidates for the upcoming general election in exchange for money.

Quader made the allegation at the Awami League president's Dhanmondi political office in the capital, reports UNB.

"BNP leaders were engaged in nomination trade. The people who didn't get the party tickets despite giving money are now looking for the BNP leaders. This is why the leaders who took money are now on the run ...there's no political issue," he said.

Quader, who is also the Road, Transport and Bridges Minister, said, "BNP has been conspiring to destabilise the election atmosphere to quit the election. So, the party is trying to use the issue of Tabligh Jamaat and many others as they have no ability to wage any movement."

About BNP's allegation that the government is out to annihilate the Zia family, he said, "The court and the EC have taken actions against Khaleda Zia and BNP leaders. Awami League didn't influence it in any away."

"History says that the Zia family was engaged in all kinds of conspiracy to vanish the Bangabandhu family. Who had sent the killers of Bangabandhu abroad through the indemnity ordinance and who brought the Fifth Amendment? It's BNP that did it."
