At least two students were injured in a clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League’s (BCL) Chittagong University unit.
The clash broke out at a programme marking the political organisation’s 70th founding anniversary on the campus on Thursday.
Witnesses said two supporter groups of city mayor AJM Nasir Uuddin locked into argument over standing in queues to observe their founding anniversary, reports UNB.
The two groups attacked each other while chase and counter-chase took place between them.
The clash lasted for around one hour, leaving two activists injured. Later police brought the situation under control, said Assistant Proctor of the university Liton Mitra.
The injured were rushed to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital, he added.
