Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has permanently suspended twenty-four of its central and Dhaka University (DU) Kabi Sufia Kamal hall unit leaders and activists for their alleged involvement in the April 10 events centering the quota reform protests.
A notification signed by BCL central president Saifur Rahman Sohag and general secretary SM Jakir Hossain confirmed it on Monday night.
The expelled leaders are: BCL central Literary Affairs Secretary Khaleda Hossain Moon, DU Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall unit vice presidents Morsheda Khanam, Atika Haque Shorna and Mira; Hall organising secretary Jannati Akhter Sumi, deputy secretary Sraboni, joint secretary Sharmin Akhter, and deputy information and research secretary Asha.
The suspended activists are Liza and Mithila Ishrat Choity of drama department, Suneetta Mandal and Anamika Das of the Department of Fine Arts, Sonam Sithi and Priyanka De and Prova of Music Department, Shila and Zakia of Geology Department, Monira and Runa of Disaster Management Department, Sharmin Sultana of Anthropology Department, Mitu of Urdu Department, Jui of Peace and Conflict Department, Tanjila of Bangla Department and Taj of Social welfare department, as followed by a report from UNB.
