Referring to the implementation of some mega projects, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has described Bangladesh as a wonder of the world.
The road transport and bridges minister said the Padma Bridge, Metrorail (RMT-6) and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Tunnel (Karnaphuli Tunnel) will be inaugurated this year.
Obaidul Quader came up with the remarks while addressing the inaugural ceremony of an art exhibition titled 'Joy Bangla Art Camp: Sonar Bangla in Thoughts of the Father' on the Public Library premises in Dhaka, reports BSS.
The minister said Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina has shown the world the country's ability by constructing the Padma Bridge with its funding.
"Not too late, our dream project - Padma Bridge - will be inaugurated within June this year. The Bangabandhu Tunnel will also be opened this year", he added.
He said the metro rail, a dream project of the young generation, will be inaugurated at the same time.
Despite all the things, Quader said, people, who do not see any development work of the government, are blind.
Obaidul Quader said many hatched conspiracies against Bangabandhu, but those who wanted to remove his name from history have been thrown into its garbage.
He said children must know about Bangabandhu to advance themselves with the ideals of the Father of the Nation.
