Awami League leaders have begun an election campaign by road to reach the common people and describe to them the development work undertaken by the government.
Previously AL leaders had flown to Sylhet on August 30 and travelled to northern parts of the country by train on September 8 as part of their election campaign.
A team of AL leaders led by the Secretary General Obaidul Quader started from the Awami League President’s Office in Dhanmondi at 9:00 am bound for Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar.
The Awami League Presidium Member Abdul Matin Khasru, Joint-General Secretary Mahbub-Ul-Alam Hanif, Secretary A K M Enamul Haque Shamim and Muhibul Hassan Chowdhury Naufel are part of the campaign team.
The team will reach Chattogram at night after holding meetings at Cumilla, Chouddagram and Feni on the way. They will hold more public meetings at Karnaphuli, Lohagara, Chakoria and Cox’s Bazar Eidgah when travelling to Cox’s Bazar from Chattogram on Sunday morning, bdnews24 reported.
“The Awami League government has done tremendous development work in the country. Our leader has been working for the people and we are travelling to bring this information to the people,” said Obaidul Quader before they set off.
“We’ll also urge the leaders and activists to remain united and be prepared to fight together.”
